Product Description

Day 1 Bucharest – 20KM from the airport

Welcome to Romania! As soon as you set foot on the Romanian land, meet your local guide and driver, who will take you to your hotel located in the heart of Bucharest. On the way to the hotel, have a preview of what you are about to discover here with a panoramic tour of the city. After making yourself comfortable in your hotel room, get to know the people who will accompany you in this adventure at a welcome dinner at the traditional restaurant Hanu Berarilor.

Day 2 Bucharest – Dragasani – Sibiu – 350KM

Breakfast at the hotel. As you wake up in the heart of the “Little Paris of the East” on your first Romanian morning, enjoy a visit to the Palace of the Parliament, the second largest administrative building in the world, following The Pentagon. After a tour of the magnificent, elegant interior of the palace, displaying the wealth of Romania, stone, marble and wood from the Romanian mountains and forests, you will leave the capital to explore the more historical part of the country, the legendary Transylvania. On your way towards Sibiu, probably the most beautiful Transylvanian medieval town, stop for a relaxing moment and enjoy a refined wine tasting at The Stirbey Estate, at the heart of the Dragasani vineyards. Coming from a vineyard intelligently designed to properly grow every kind of grapes planted, offering elevated isolation for Merlot and heat protection for Sauvignon Blanc, the wine is stored in the cellar designed by Prince Alexandru Stirbey himself. Afterwards you will continue towards Sibiu, where after the check-in you will have dinner at the hotel.

Day 3 Sibiu – Jidvei – Sibiel – Sibiu – 200KM

Breakfast at the hotel. Start today with a tour of the luring city of Sibiu, listed by Forbes in top 10 most idyllic places to live in the whole world. Sibiu was chosen Europe’s Cultural Capital City in 2007 together with Luxembourg. The town was settled by the Germans colonists in the 12th century and preserves until today its wonderful medieval atmosphere. The walking tour starts at the Grand Square where you will find the Catholic Church and the Brukenthal Palace, and continues with Liar’s Bridge, the Small Square and Huet Square. After spending some free time as you wish, board on another wine expedition, at the Jidvey Winery. Located in the Tarnave rivers area, and expanding over 2,000 hectares, The Jidvey Vineyard successfully mixes modern technologies with the classical method of aging in barrels or bottles for an impressive annual production. Prove for yourself the quality of their wines during a wine tasting. In the evening, enjoy a unique experience of having a traditional dinner at the locals in Sibiel, including local wine and the traditional plum brandy.

Day 4 Sibiu – Sighisoara – Brasov – 215KM

Today starts with a visit to Biertan, the largest fortified church castle in Transylvania, which has been on the list of UNESCO World Heritages Sites since 1993. Take a break while being transferred to Sighisoara, the birth place of count Dracula. Sighisoara was settled by the Germans in the 13th century and it is one of the few still inhabited medieval fortresses in the whole world, being also protected by UNESCO. During the walking tour you will visit the Clock Tower, the birth house of Dracula’s vampire and the Church on the Hill. In the evening you will arrive in Brasov, where you will be able to further explore the Romanian culture, enjoying a traditional dinner with folklore program and wine tasting at the historic restaurant Cerbul Carpatin.

Day 5 Brasov – Bran – Azuga – Sinaia – Bucharest – 200KM

This morning you will visit the most famous castle in Eastern Europe - the Dracula Castle. The castle was built by the German Saxons in the 14th century and served as customs for many centuries between Transylvania and Wallachia. Live the outstanding experience of a wine tasting of „Dracula’s wine”. Relax with a new tasting, this time a sparkling wine tasting from Halewood Cellars in The Rhein & Cie Azuga winery, which will reveal the story of a traditional Champagne. Flourishing on the beautiful Prahova Valley since 1892, this ancient cellar produces spectacular sparkling wine following the traditional method: after at least 9 months kept in the fermentation room, the bottles are moved to the clearing room where they are given the perfect twist, just enough to obtain an outstanding sparkling wine. Continue your cultural incursion with a visit to the amazing Peles Castle in Sinaia, one of the most beautiful castles in the world. It was built at the end of the 19th century by the German King Carol I and served as summer royal residence until 1947. Today the castle is an outstanding museum preserving the original furniture, decorations and paintings. In the evening you will return to Bucharest, where you will have dinner in the famous Beer Cart Restaurant in the Old Town.
